An earlier version of this web site was awarded 9th place in the Web Page Competition arranged by IAAF in June 1999 as part of celebrating 1999 as "The Year of Athletics" due to the World Championships in Athletics in Sevilla, Spain. This web site is made as a tribute to Jamaica's old female sprinter Merlene Ottey (born 1960) - the great female athlete who has turned the sprint into a marathon by stretching her career to four decades.
