Major Jamaican Honours

1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995: 
            Jamaican Carreras Foundation Sportswoman of the Year.

1980:
Conferred the Order of Distinction for "services in the field of sport" by Jamaican Cabinet.

1993:
Designated a roving ambassador of Jamaica after her World Championship gold.
