Ottey ran anchor 3s1

# Merlene Ottey did not have to compete in the 200 metres to qualify for the Olympic Games.
* Due to bronchitis and hamstring problems Ottey withdrew from the 100 metre semifinal to save herself for the 200 m.
Although running the semifinal Ottey and Cuthbert decided not to run in the relay final (due to inuries) and therefore Jamaica had to scratch its team in the final.
