Silver medal at the 4 x 100 metre relay (her 8th Olympic medal - record for a female athlete).

From 14 February 2000 Merlene Ottey was suspended indefinitely from racing by the IAAF. Her drug case was sent to IAAF's Arbitration Panel to be discussed on 16 & 17 June 2000. 

 Outdoor races 2000

On 3 July 2000 Merlene was acquitted of all doping charges and allowed to compete again.
